| 4Projects has been selected by Centrica Resources Limited for use on the Grove Extension and Seven Seas gas field developments in the Southern North Sea. The scope of the project includes drilling and completion of new wells, subsea tiebacks (pipeline, umbilicals), and amendment to existing platform installations.
The selection of the 4Projects collaboration solution enables Centrica Resources Limited, as the Operator, to review and disseminate information across both internal and external interfaces in an effective, timely and efficient manner.
4Projects permits Centrica Resources Limited to have full visibility across all project activity and additionally the comfort to know that all project work can be carried out with full regulatory compliance. 4Projects significantly improves the collaboration process, assists with project risk mitigation and delivers a clear direct cost saving coupled with overall business and project efficiencies.
As the project had already commenced 4Projects were asked to carry out a data import of all project “archive” data. The 4Projects Development Team are able to take unstructured data and write the interface to allow an unstructured data set to be automatically uploaded to an extranet where it then becomes fully indexed and searchable, attaining a structured format for the efficient data recovery and collaboration.

The aim of the project was to provide a safe, technically sound, and commercially acceptable solution for abatement of VOC vapour during tanker loading at the Teesside Oil Terminal where crude oil reception, processing, storage and trans-shipment is carried out. The Client adopted a FEL Stage Gate process with 4Projects solution deployed through all phases of the project. 4Projects solution deployment incorporated, but was not limited to, the activities associated with the procurement of the FEED contractor, the actual FEED work execution, subsequent EPC Contract procurement and then throughout the EPC phase of the project as well.
From project commencement to June 2008, 89 Organisations have collaborated through 408 users across 6 countries.
17210 items have been uploaded and viewed 63578 times. This gives an upload to download ratio of 1:4 i.e. for every item uploaded it has been viewed 4 times. This is a strong indicator of enhanced efficiency and savings being accrued without the need to disseminate project evaluation and execution information across the stakeholder base.
To assist in the simplification of project data retrieval the Client deployed extensive use of Keywords ensuring that the Client was able to sort, retrieve and organise data in an effective and efficient manner.
Our Client has utilised the 4Projects collaboration solution on a number of other projects in development / licensing / permitting phase and continued this through FEED and EPC. |

| In February 2007 4Projects further increased their presence in the energy supply industry by announcing a 5 year deal with E.ON UK, the U.K.'s largest integrated energy company to provide the collaborative extranet for their Holford Gas Storage Project.
In July 2005 E.ON UK, a subsidiary of E.ON, the world's largest investor-owned power and gas company, purchased Holford Gas Storage Limited from Scottish Power, a proposed underground gas storage facility located in Cheshire. Once fully developed Holford could be one of the fastest churn facilities in the UK – meaning large volumes of gas can be pumped into the National Transmission System (NTS) very quickly.
The Holford Gas Storage facility when complete will have a total capacity of 162 million cubic metres (mcm) of gas and would be made up of eight separate underground storage caverns, each measuring approximately 100m in diameter and 100m high.
With the complexity of a project like the development of the Holford Gas Storage facility, E.ON required all partners in the development to collaborate closely and chose 4Projects to deliver a secure web based solution. The solution ensured consistency in communications and easy to use technology that could be rapidly implemented and accessed by all its partners.

MPI Offshore Limited, a pioneering company in the offshore wind turbine installation industry is utilising 4Projects web based collaboration tool to manage the construction of two new TIV (Turbine Installation Vessels).
The vessels, ‘Adventure’ and ‘Discovery’ represent an investment of $550m and are due for delivery and commissioning in the 1st and 3rd quarters of 2011. The new vessels design is based on the current design of MV Resolution (built 2003), which is the only purpose built offshore Wind Turbine Installation Vessel in the world. These new vessels will be slightly bigger and will have a number of enhancements, such as a much larger crane (1,000 MT lifting capacity), larger accommodation (112 persons), helideck, enhanced jacking and positioning capability (DPII) and the ability to work in the Offshore Oil and Gas sector.
As the vessels are being constructed at the Cosco Nantong Shipyard in China, MPI required a solution that enabled the timely and accurate flow of information between project partners located across the globe.
Use of the 4Projects collaboration solution not only facilitates this information flow and data share - it also ensures that everyone is working to the latest version of each and every document or drawing as well as being able to show ‘who did what, and when.’
In addition, the user defined language preferences in-built in the 4Projects offering allows each registered user to select the language in which they would like to work, including simplified Chinese.
